About Us

Texas Gulf Coast Association for Healthcare Quality (TGCAHQ) is a non-profit association that was organized in 1977 to promote educational activities for quality professionals in the southeast portion of Texas. The association aligns with the Texas Association for Healthcare Quality and National Association for Healthcare Quality. TGCAHQ is supported by the Board of Directors. The board is composed of an executive team including the president, president-elect, past-president, secretary, treasurer, membership and outreach director, education director, information communication and technology director, physician advisor and an honorary board member.

Our members range from under graduate and graduate students to healthcare quality professionals that work in all healthcare settings including patient safety, regulatory and accreditation, quality review and accountability, performance and process improvement, health data analytics, population health, care coordination and care transitions. The mission of TGCAHQ is to provide education and networking opportunities to enhance healthcare professionals’ capacity to improve quality in healthcare services. We accomplish this by sponsoring scholarships, educational activities, volunteering and networking opportunities for its members, including webinars, yellow belt training and CPHQ review courses.
