  2. Map the five CMS QAPI elements to hospital strategic goals and priorities
  3. Apply practical strategies to integrate QAPI activities into hospital-wide PI and governance structures
  4. Evaluate opportunities to use QAPI as a driver for culture change, accountability, and long-term sustainability

About the Speaker

 Heather Gibbons, BA,  Regulatory Compliance Project Manager, Mount Auburn Hospital, Cambridge, MA

For twenty years, Heather Gibbons-Perez has been a dedicated leader at Mount Auburn Hospital, advancing patient safety, regulatory excellence, and performance improvement across the organization.

 

She began her career as Regulatory Project Manager, then Patient Safety Manager, before moving into roles as Director of Regulatory Affairs and, most recently, Director of Performance Improvement and Regulatory Affairs.  Her work is deeply aligned with the values of Mount Auburn Hospital and Beth Israel Lahey Health, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, health equity, and high-reliability performance. She has played a pivotal leadership role in achieving Health Equity Certification, advancing QAPI goal alignment, and preparing the organization for Joint Commission surveys and Stroke Center certification. 

Known for her integrity, inclusivity, and respect, Heather has demonstrated ability to translate strategy into meaningful operational outcomes.  She continues to lead initiatives that strengthen quality, safety, and equitable care for all patients.

Heather currently chairs Workplace Violence Prevention Committee, Quality Review Committee, Health Disparities Committee, Performance Excellence Committee and Patient and Family Advisory Council and manages the Performance Improvement and Regulatory functions in the Quality and Safety Department.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION PROCESS:  This is a 2-part process.  Registration with TCGAHQ will give you the registration link for NEAHQ.  You MUST complete the whole process by registering directly with our collaborative partner, who will collect the fees (if applicable) and send you the actual link for the event. (Save it to your calendar!)  Do this 2nd step immediately, as some events have set limits and fill up.  Yes...it may seem like a "bit extra" but each association has it's own platform and registration process, so it is the best we have come up with so our members can have great access to amazing quality educational materials.
